The Coronado Police Department is a professional, full-service law enforcement agency dedicated to protecting and serving the residents, businesses, military installations, and visitors of Coronado, California. With our unique location as a destination community and home to several U.S. Navy facilities, we take pride in providing a high level of safety and service through proactive patrol, traffic enforcement, investigations, and community engagement.     Traffic Officer

    Traffic Officers specialize in collision investigation, DUI enforcement, and proactive traffic safety efforts. They play a critical role in keeping Coronado’s streets safe through education, enforcement, and advanced crash reconstruction.

    Task Force Officer

    Task Force Officers are assigned to regional and federal partnerships such as the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) and the Narcotics Task Force (NTF). These positions allow officers to work alongside federal and regional agencies on high-level investigations that extend beyond city limits.

    Promotional Track

    Coronado Police offers clear promotional opportunities for those seeking leadership roles. Dedicated officers can advance through the ranks to Corporal, Sergeant, and beyond, with a strong emphasis on mentorship and professional development.

    Detective

    Bicycle Patrol

    The Bicycle Patrol Team enhances community policing by providing high-visibility patrols in parks, beaches, and special events. These officers are able to engage directly with residents and visitors while providing quick response in areas not easily accessible by patrol vehicles.
