The Oral Interview
Your oral interview is your chance to show us who you are beyond the test scores. If you’d like tips on presenting yourself or want to connect with someone who has sat in your seat before, contact a Coronado Police recruiter today.
The oral interview is your chance to stand out as more than just a test score. A panel, often made up of officers, supervisors, and community representatives, will ask you questions about your background, motivations, ethical decision-making, and problem-solving ability. You may be presented with hypothetical scenarios (e.g., how you would handle a conflict, make a judgment call, or respond to a community concern). The panel isn’t looking for “perfect” answers, but for honesty, communication skills, and alignment with the department’s values.
